What is Volunteers in Medicine? Volunteers in Medicine Chattanooga, Inc. (VIM Chattanooga) is a full service medical clinic that opened its doors on May 5, 2005. It provides primary and preventive health care to financially eligible individuals and families of Hamilton County, Tennessee who otherwise have no access to public or private health insurance. The clinic is in the 5900 Building, Suite 1400, in Eastgate, next door to the Eastgate Library. Services will be expanded over time as additional resources are acquired.
Dr. Jack McConnell, with roots in Chattanooga, developed the concept and opened the original VIM Clinic in 1992 in Hilton Head Island, SC.
Mission The mission of the VIM Chattanooga Clinic is to understand and serve the health and wellness needs of the medically underserved in our community by providing quality, compassionate and personalized care in a faith-based caring environment.
Vision May we have eyes to see, with Christian love, those to whom we have been blind, arms to embrace those who have been excluded, hands to touch those needing compassion, wisdom and skill to alleviate suffering, with hearts bonded together.
